Editing
I've been editing for around a year now give or take and I've always had tons of fun with it. I've been editing TV shows and Video Games mainly. The way I am going to take on this interest is step by step, I'm, going to act as if I'm a beginner just learning the ropes. That way, everyone interested in this portion of the site can learn as well!

First off before I begin with the explanation I hope you enjoyed the edit!
Now most people would be looking at these different programs and just stare at them unable to figure out whats going on. But, with a bit of practice and determination you too can become a video editor!
First off, let's explain the program I used to make this edit. Sony Vegas Pro 14 isn't exactly the latest version of Sony Vegas but it's the version I use. This program is a good program to start out with when editing, I have continued to use it since I have been used to it but there are other, more difficult, and better looking programs out there than this one, such as Adobe After Affects (which I will get to later).
I am going to be skipping the very first steps to using the program and I will explain my process of editing. First, it's all about finding a style of editing that you like, what songs you want to use, what clips you want to edit, and of course what effects you use for each edit.
My style of editing is somewhat repetitious for the real life clips that I edit only for the reason that I personally enjoy the natural beauty of every clip. I don't want to ruin it by adding tons of effects to the point where you wouldn't be able to tell what was going on during the actual clip. I think the clips I use and record do a good job of showing how pretty the world can be.
I love to use songs that are sad sounding and some that are happier with really cool beats. Now the cool thing about using a ton of different songs like that is you can change your style as well, making the speeds of clips faster, slower, using Color Correction (how you can change the color of the clips you'll edit), and even using different effects as well (because some effects work better with faster songs, and others with slower songs).
For this particular edit, I used an upbeat song with effects I believe go well with the song. The beginning effects was an awkward pinch in the screen to transition to the next clip, really exaggerating the climax of the song. At the same time I edited the audio to change the pitch and give it, in my opinion, a better sound.
For the second clip, I used an LED based effect to catch the chime sounds that happen at the beginning of the song. To me it sounds like a glimmering sound effect which I thin perfectly works with the LED, shiny effect.
For the last clip I used an effect called GlowEdges, so I changed the color to glow red, and have a bit of pulse on all the beats of the song.
And on top of all of the clips, I used a few effects such as Flicker (the very small fading from black and back) and then Magic Bullet Looks (which is also a Color Corrector) to get a grainy effect over my clips.
And finally, to get my clips to sync of to certain beats I used Velocity, which allows me to change the speeds of clips to however I want them to be.
VFX Breakdown Prt2
Just like in the last edit, before we begin I hope you all enjoyed this one as well!
So thankfully I won't have to write just as much as I did for the other edit, I decided to stay a bit more simple with this one.
I used Velocity just like before to edit the speeds of each clip, and I used Flicker and a bit of Magic Bullet Looks as well to get a grainy feeling (on the last two clips).
Now towards the end I used an effect called Black and White (changes the colors to shades of black and white) and also I had used something called Pan and Crop to bring the sides of the screen closer to the middle of the clip, to sort of grasp a old muffled and static like feel. The reason why I chose that approach is because the song has that section where it becomes a more muffled sounding portion.
I didn't mention it in the last VFX Breakdown but for the text I give it partial glow, and an effect called Turbulence, which gives the movement that I think really makes the text more interesting than it just standing still fading in then fading out.

, This edit I did a little differently. Also just to mention now I had accidentally forgot to put a tittle on it so I am just going to name it "Untitled".
Now specifically for this edit I did things a bit more advanced regarding using more than one program. To do the velocity I had used Sony Vegas Pro, so I had all the clips sync up and look a bit better quality than when I recorded them on my phone. Then after the velocity and editing of the audio, I imported this edit into another program I use called Adobe After Effects. This new program is a lot more difficult and a lot harder to use and get a grasp of. So in doing a bit of research on the program I learned how to do an effect called Pixel Sorter (which is the effect at the end of the edit). This effect I used because of the degenerative feel of the song (at least I see it that way), and the reason why it sounds that way is because of the way I had edited the audio.
And In using two different programs, that is a simple result. It looks very good in my opinion and I intend to continue to use both of the programs in almost all of my future edits.
